Thank you, God our Father, for our new baby. We welcome this gift of love from you. May we help this new baby grow by our love and care. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who once was a new baby himself. Amen.
A Prayer of Welcome for an Adopted Child
“In love he destined us for adoption to himself through Jesus Christ, in accord with the favor of his will, for the praise of the glory of his grace that he granted us in the beloved.” (Ephesians 1:5–6)
Thank you, God our Father, for our new child and the newest member of our family. We thank you for choosing this child to join our family. May we help (her or him) to grow, to develop the gifts and talents you have given to (her or him), and to belong to one another always. We ask as your own adopted children, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
