  FEATURED GOSPEL
PARALYTIC Through the ROOF
Mark 2:1-12
  Look Up
A man who was paralyzed had four friends who wanted to help him walk again. When Jesus was in town, they carried their friend to the place where Jesus was. But many other people wanted to hear Jesus and get help from him, and it was so crowded that
the men could not get through the front door with their friend. So they got creative and climbed up on the roof, made a hole in the roof and lowered their paralyzed friend down right in front of Jesus. Jesus took notice and first forgave the man’s sins and then told the man to get up and walk. So that is what the man did. He
took his mat and walked. And the people were amazed.
So he said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, get up, pick up your mat, and go home!” Mark 2:10-11
I Pray
Dear Jesus, heal me and love me that I may walk with you forever. Amen.
Digging Deeper
When we are in need of help from God, we sometimes get frustrated if nothing seems to happen when we pray or it feels like God is not listening to us. The four friends in this story teach us to never give up. There is always a way to get close to Jesus, and there is always a way for Jesus to help us. Jesus knows that our greatest need is to
be healed of our sins and so he forgives us. And Jesus knows that we want to follow him so he gives us a way to walk in his path through our faith in him.
