 4. Choose one aspect of your day and pray with it: Take one event, person, or emotion from your day and use that to pray spontaneously. Have a conversation with God about that. No need for memorized prayers here. Just sit with God for a while.
5. Look forward to the next day. As you look ahead to tomorrow, what is it that you would like to ask God? Is there an important event going on at school? Is there a person you need to have a conversation with that causes you anxiety? Bring that to prayer. Ask for God’s presence in a special way as you head into the coming day.
Gerard Manley Hopkins was a Jesuit priest and poet who lived in the mid 1800s. He described the world as “charged with the grandeur of God.” Seeing the world this way is a gift that the Holy Spirit gives to us as we receive piety.
