future. What
would the world be like if we looked for ways to be kind to one another?
Perhaps you have heard the song “The Christmas Shoes.” The story is about a boy who wants to purchase a pair of shoes for his dying mother. Unfortunately, when he gets to the cash register and lays down his money the boy realizes he doesn’t have enough to pay for the shoes. Seeing this all take place, the writer of the song, who happens to be in line behind
the boy, offers to pay for the shoes. The boy, the mother,
and the kind man who donated the money will truly have a merrier Christmas. Why? Because of a kind act of a man who expected nothing in return.
We are not all called to be Maximilian Kolbes. We will not all give our lives as martyrs. But we can all be on the lookout to do kind acts and be kind people. It begins with one kind act at a time!
