your fruit! How are you living? What actions do you take on a daily basis to truly live as his follower?
In the sacrament of confirmation, the gifts of the Holy Spirit strengthen us to live as disciples of Jesus. In doing so, they produce in us good fruit. The fruits of the Holy Spirit are:
Charity (Love) • Joy • Peace • Patience Kindness • Goodness • Generosity Gentleness • Faithfulness • Modesty Self-Control • Chastity
Just as you experienced with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, in the following pages each fruit will be explained, a model of our faith who especially shows each fruit will be provided, and several journal reflection questions and some suggested action ideas will be presented.
As you work through these pages, challenge yourself to reflect upon the type of fruit you are producing already. Where do you most need the help of the Holy Spirit in producing even more plentiful and quality fruit? And how generous are you in giving away the fruits with which God has blessed you? And just like those apple and orange trees, you do not need to be perfect, and your fruits need not be either. Jesus just wants you to do your best and keep the growing process going!
