PArENT lETTEr for grATITudE grAB BAgS
Dear parent,
Your child is learning about various forms of prayer. During our time together, we discussed what it means to be grateful. As a class, we decided that our lives are lled with many moments of gratitude. We are grateful for small things like puppies and owers. We are grateful for all the people who love us, especially friends and family.
We would like you to join us in a special project. Each child has brought home a Gratitude Grab Bag. Over the next 7 days, please take a few moments each day to talk about one thing that your entire family is grateful for. Let your child draw the picture and help him or her to write a word or a sentence describing the picture. Please have your child bring the Gratitude Grab Bag back to class on _______________. During this class, students will exchange bags. Your child will bring home another child’s Gratitude Grab Bag. Each evening, please pull out one of the cards and as a family say a prayer of gratitude not only for the object that was pulled out but also for the family whose bag you have.
