Spoons of thankfulness activity
1 Give every student 9 spoons run o  in one color. on each spoon print one of the following words: bless, o, and,  y, we, about, receive, christ, lord.
2 Give each student 9 spoons run o  on white paper. on each spoon print one of the following words: us, lord,  ese, Gifts, are, To,  rough, our, amen.
3 Put all of the spoons turned word-side down on a  at surface. draw out one spoon from the colored paper and one from white paper. if the colored paper word follows the white spoon word, place the spoon on top of the white spoon. if the colored spoon word does not follow the white spoon, return both spoons. who- ever has the most pairs wins.

□ 12" Paper plates, one for each child □ Markers/Crayons
□ Magazines with pictures of food □ 11.5" x 17" construction paper,
one sheet per child

▪ Gather the children around you.
▪ read or tell the story of st. Paul in acts 27:27–35. ▪ discuss the concept that everything
we have is a gift from God.
▪ Talk about healthy eating practices. have
students brainstorm healthy food choices. (note: For more information on healthy eating practices see “My Plate” at www.choosemyplate. gov and use the foods listed in each section.)
▪ discuss their favorite meals. ▪ direct the children to complete
the My Plate activity.
▪ Pray spontaneous “ ank you, God, for...” prayers.

1 Get a paper plate.
2 divide it into the four “My Plate” sections.
3 either draw or  nd pictures of your favorite foods
and put them in the correct “My Plate” section.
4 color the Meal Prayer words (page 35).
5 Glue the plate on a piece of construction paper.
6 Glue the Meal Prayer words under the “plate” on
the construction paper.
